nonstandard has released their first cd. A spontaneous and heterogeneous group of music-related people created a set of pieces that were compiled this year. This is the first cd and other will follow. You can buy it on ebay. They have their website here. If you are interested in having your music in one of the following nonstandard's just email nonstandard to obtain more information (I think soon it will be also online).
I wrote a piece using Lisp (which I learned in Calfifornia with David Cope - see WACM) for the cd. I entitled it Trigonometry. The piece has three movements, all instrumental, exploring in each the use of trigonometric functions as melodic methaphors. With the aid of markov chains, each movement develops in vertical and horizontal trajectories.
Trigonometry (Mov. I)
Trigonometry (Mov. II)
Trigonometry (Mov. III)
They did also a radio show with the project freesound at the Arts Centre in Plymouth (UK). You can listen to it in nonstandardweb.org
